Head Boy and Girl
Head Boy, Head Girl, and School Senedd
At Llangan Primary School, we proudly elect a Head Boy, Head Girl, and their deputies each September, marking a special moment for our Year 6 pupils as they step into leadership roles. These positions form an important part of our school’s commitment to developing confident, responsible, and ethical leaders who embody our core values of Adaptability, Communication, Cooperation, Enquiry, Morality, Resilience, Respect, and Thoughtfulness.
Elected through a democratic process, these pupils represent the very best of Llangan. They campaign for their roles by delivering speeches to the whole school, explaining why they should be chosen. The election, which mirrors the democratic practices of our nation, helps all pupils understand the importance of fair elections and the responsibilities that come with leadership. Through this process, we aim to teach our children how to be informed and ethical citizens of Wales and the wider world.
Once elected, the Head Boy, Head Girl, and their deputies assume the important roles of First Ministers of our School Senedd. They act as ambassadors for Llangan Primary, leading by example, supporting school activities, and representing our school at public functions. As role models, they guide younger students, helping to foster a culture of respect, cooperation, and moral responsibility throughout the school.
Their duties also include organising events, supporting school staff, and ensuring the student voice is heard, all while upholding the high standards of behaviour and leadership expected of them. The Head Boy, Head Girl, and their deputies are not only a source of pride for the school but also an integral part of our mission to nurture future leaders who are ready to make a positive impact on their community and the world.
