Maths Challenge! Week Ending 29.11.24

This week in Dosbarth Llwynog, our focus has been on maths!

We've been grappling with data handling; putting our skills to the test when creating and interpreting line graphs, bar charts, pictograms and pie charts. We've been learning about how each one of these data representations can be used for different purposes and how we can use them to retrieve information and interpret sets of data.

As well as all this, a group of brave Year 6 children made us proud at the MAT maths challenge, held at St Bride's school. The children had to face a set of gruelling maths challenges, in competition with other Year 6 learners from across our cluster. As the results stand, we are currently holding a respectable middle of the leaderboard slot.

Rest assured, we'll be in maths bootcamp next term to ensure we make some gains and creep up to the top! A huge well done to the team for representing Dosbarth Llwynog so well. We're very proud of you.

Alongside our maths focus this week, we've also been putting our digital skills to the test. As our enquiry draws to a close, we have been working hard on creating collaborative websites to showcase our learning on the Industrial Revolution. The children were asked to include a 'green screen' video clip on their web pages, so filming and editing has been happening all week!

These websites will be premiered at our Jump Out Day on Tuesday 3rd December. Come and join us at 2:45pm where we can tell you all about our Inquiry and share our websites with you!
