Welcome Back!

It's been lovely to welcome the children back this week! Take a look at what we've been getting up to.

In our expressive arts session, we've been exploring some 'industrial art'. We looked at the work of some famous artists, including Lowry, Van Gogh, Banksy and even a local artist called Andy James. We noticed how the artists all use shapes and a similar colour palette to depict this era.

We will use these pieces of art as inspiration for our own artwork in the coming weeks.

In literacy this week, we have been focusing on grammar and composing correct sentences. We discovered that it's pretty tricky to answer the question: 'What is a sentence?'

In maths, we have been working on division and multiplication. Some of us are still grappling with long division while others of us are consolidating our multiplication skills, using arrays to help us.

Next week, we are looking forwards to finishing our science investigation on soluble and insoluble materials. Test our knowledge! Ask us what a solute, solvent and solution are!
