Super Science Week!

What an incredible Science Week we have had! Our theme this year was ‘Change and Adapt’, and we explored how science helps us understand the world around us.

One of the most exciting parts of the week was our Science Day, where we took part in a range of fascinating activities and experiments. We learnt about air pollution and how it affects our environment, discovering ways we can help reduce harmful emissions. We also explored the properties of solids, liquids, and gases, investigating how materials change state under different conditions. Additionally, we conducted experiments on clean and dirty water, understanding the importance of water filtration and how we can help protect our water sources.

Another fascinating topic we covered was seagrass and its importance to our planet. We learnt that seagrass plays a vital role in absorbing carbon dioxide, improving water quality, and providing habitats for marine life. It was inspiring to see how nature has its own ways of adapting and protecting the planet.

Science wasn’t the only subject we explored this week! We also deepened our understanding of fractions of numbers, making links between maths and science. By using real-world examples, we saw how fractions play a role in measuring pollution levels, calculating changes in materials, and understanding proportions in our experiments.

Science Week has been an amazing opportunity to think about how things change and adapt, both in nature and in our everyday lives. We have had so much fun experimenting, questioning, and learning together. Thank you to all the teachers, staff, and students who made this week so special!

We can’t wait for next year’s Science Week! Keep exploring, keep questioning, and remember—science is everywhere!
