7.3 -Celebrating Welsh Culture & Favourite Stories!" 📚🎨🎶

What a busy and exciting week we've had in Year 1/2! From celebrating Welsh culture to diving into our favourite books, the classroom has been full of creativity and enthusiasm.
Eisteddfod Celebrations
This week, we have been preparing for our school Eisteddfod, celebrating Welsh culture through poetry, art, and performance. The children worked incredibly hard on their poems and art pieces, showing off their creativity and pride in their heritage. A highlight was taking part in a Twmpath – a traditional Welsh folk dance where everyone joins in to dance together. It was brilliant to see the children enjoying the music and moving as a team!
World Book Day – Reading Fun!
On Thursday, we marked World Book Day with a day full of reading and relaxation. The children loved dressing up as their favourite book characters and spent time unwinding with their favourite stories. A big thank you to the PTA for providing hot chocolate, which made our reading time even cosier!
Literacy – Non-Chronological Reports
This week, we’ve started our new unit on non-chronological reports. The children have been exploring the features of this type of writing, ready to create their own fact-filled reports in the coming weeks.
Looking Ahead
We’re looking forward to continuing our work on non-chronological reports and exploring even more about coastal habitats in our inquiry sessions.
It's been a week full of fun, learning, and creativity—da iawn, pawb!
