14/2 - From Rockpools to Rhymes – A Week of Adventures!" 🌊📖✨

It’s been an exciting week in Year 1/2, filled with storytelling, seaside exploration, and fascinating discoveries! Here’s what we’ve been up to:

Literacy – Story Innovation Complete!
This week, the children completed their innovated versions of Stella and the Seagull. Their creativity really shone as they crafted their own unique twists to the story. It has been wonderful to see their confidence in writing grow—da iawn, everyone!

Numeracy – Diving into Division
In Numeracy, we began exploring division. The children have been learning how to share and group numbers, building a strong foundation for their mathematical understanding. It’s been great to see them tackling new challenges with enthusiasm!

Inquiry – Rockpool Fact Files
After our amazing trip to Porthcawl, where we became Rockpool Guardians, we used our knowledge to start creating Rockpool fact files! The children have been researching different creatures that live in these unique habitats, thinking about their adaptations and how they survive by the coast.

Trip to Porthcawl – Rockpool Guardians!
The highlight of our week was undoubtedly our trip to Porthcawl! The children explored real rockpools, discovered fascinating marine creatures, and learned about protecting coastal environments. Their excitement and curiosity made it a truly memorable experience!

Looking Ahead – Excitement for the Eisteddfod!
Next week, we’ll be turning our focus to preparing for the school Eisteddfod! The children will begin working on their Welsh pieces—a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Welsh culture, language, and creativity!

Another brilliant week of learning—we can’t wait for what’s next!
