Week Beginning 10th March 2025

Mad About Science! ๐ฌ๐งช๐งฌ๐ญ๐ก๐
This week in Dosbarth Pili-Pala, the children have been full of excitement as we celebrated British Science Week. As part of our Science Experience Day, the children had the opportunity to move around different activities led by teachers, exploring fascinating scientific concepts through hands-on experiments. From 'Climate Olympics' to 'Meltdown Mayhem', 'Trash to Treasure', 'Clean Air Lab', and the 'Renewable Energy Challenge', it’s been an action-packed week of discovery and fun.
Science Week has also made its way into our inquiry sessions, where we conducted an experiment using water and oil to observe the effects of oil spills on animals and the environment. The children dipped feathers into the oil and water mixture and noticed how the oil stuck to the feather, much like it would to a bird’s feathers in the wild. This led to thoughtful discussions about the impact of pollution on wildlife and the importance of protecting our planet.
We are now looking ahead to an exciting adventure next week as we head off on our school trip to Plantasia in Swansea! We can’t wait to explore, learn, and see all the amazing plants and animals up close.
