Pili Pala – Exploring Ocean Habitats!
This week at Pili Pala, we’ve been diving deep into the wonders of the ocean! The children have had an exciting time learning all about marine habitats, discovering the fascinating creatures that call the sea their home.
As part of our ocean theme, each child created a fact file about their favourite sea creature. From mighty sharks to elegant sea turtles, they all have discovered interesting facts. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and curiosity for their homework task come to life!
In Outdoor Learning, the children had the opportunity to practise their weaving skills. Using colourful threads, they carefully wove patterns onto a fish, developing their fine motor skills and creativity. We were so impressed with their patience and concentration!
In Maths, we made a splash while learning about Capacity! The children explored different containers, comparing how much liquid each could hold. They had great fun estimating, measuring, and pouring, which helped them understand key concepts like full, empty, more, and less. It was a hands-on and engaging way to develop their mathematical thinking.
We are so proud of all the children’s hard work and enthusiasm this week!
Next week we are going to need to wrap up warm as we head to the Artic.
