Going for Gold!! 25.10.24
BIG NEWS: We have achieved the Charter Iiath Cymraeg Campus Silver award!!!
Shwmae,
What a busy few weeks it has been!
We recently celebrated Dwirnod Shwmae in School. The Criw Cymraeg planned and organised a wonderful Shwmae Day for all of Llangan to enjoy. We all dressed in red and held a special celebration assembly where we encouraged pupils to 'give Welsh a go' by performing a Welsh song, poem or conversation with a friend. So many pupils took part and it was an afternoon of great Welsh fun!
This week, the Criw Cymraeg and Mrs Antoniou met with Bethan Davies from CSC who visited Llangan, to see all the wonderful work we have been doing to improve Welsh across the school and to see our progress against the targets for the Cymraeg Campus silver award. The pupils of the Criw Cymraeg were absolutely fantastic in representing the school, and we were awarded the Silver Award!!
On Friday morning, the Criw Cymraeg met in our committee meeting, and we got straight to work on planning assemblies and phrase of the week for next term and choosing our next targets to achieve the Gold Award.
Our next targets are:
1. To invite Welsh speakers into school to engage with pupils.
2. Celebrate more Welsh days.
3. Hand out Welsh rewards to pupils.
4. Pupils and staff to speak more Welsh outside the classroom.
