Eco Schools Green Flag Award
In July 2024, the Eco Owls Committee was successful in being awarded the Eco Schools' Green Flag Award.
I am delighted to inform you that your application for Llangan Primary School’s Eco-Schools Green Flag award was successful.
Many thanks for the time given by yourself, the staff and pupils during the recent visit. I was really pleased to see your school’s enthusiasm for the programme.
Officer Highlights:
A wonderful visit meeting the enthusiastic and knowledgeable Eco Owls Committee and Eco Coordinator Lyndsay Jarman Davies.
Special thanks to Lyndsay for the time commitment given to the programme and collation of the evidence presented, all demonstrating a good understanding of the requirements of the programme.
It was great to be given a fantastic presentation by the pupils and to discuss the many Eco-Schools topic activities undertaken over the past two years. It was impressive to hear about the numerous waste reduction activities taking place such as paper reduction actions, the Rags to Riches initiative, uniform and toy swap shops and the new recycling points in and around the school.
The awareness raising of the Global Goals was great to hear about and the ongoing development and fantastic whole school use of the grounds for outdoor learning and food growing is very impressive, as well as the time and thought taken to increase biodiversity and homes for nature.
A well-deserved Green Flag Award was achieved.
Celebrating success
The Green Flag award is a fantastic achievement. The school, staff and pupils should feel proud of their hard work and commitment.
