In our assemblies, we discussed what it means to be thoughtful and shared a story highlighting simple ways we can show kindness and consideration in our everyday actions. As a school, we’ve also set thoughtful resolutions for the year ahead, focusing on how we can make our school community an even better place.

Events This Week

Jump In Day

On Tuesday, the whole school participated in our exciting Jump In Day, a creative and immersive experience designed to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for our new topics. Each class engaged in a range of activities to introduce their inquiries, all linked to the theme of sustainability.

From designing posters to raise awareness about environmental issues, to collaborative art projects highlighting our planet’s beauty, the children demonstrated fantastic creativity and teamwork. The day was filled with discussion, exploration, and hands-on learning, setting the tone for meaningful inquiry throughout the term.

Choir Practice

Our school choir joined Llansannor Primary School for a shared practice session as they prepare for their upcoming performance at the O2 Arena in London. The children sang beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed working alongside another school. Excitement is building for their big moment on the London stage!

Reminders

Extra-Curricular After-School Clubs

Our after-school clubs are starting next week:

• Monday: Art Club (Years 1 & 2) and Netball (Years 3–6)
• Tuesday: Football/Rugby (Years 3–6)
• Thursday: Sewing Club (Years 3–6)

Children will remain in their current groups unless you contact us to request changes. If you’d like to add or remove your child from a club, please get in touch with the school office.

PE Days

Children should wear their PE kit to school on the following days, with their school jumper over the top:

• Nursery: Wednesday
• Reception: Thursday
• Year 1: Tuesday
• Year 2: Tuesday
• Year 3: Tuesday
• Year 4: Wednesday
• Year 5: Wednesday
• Year 6: Wednesday

This helps minimise time lost to changing and keeps kits from being misplaced.

Outdoor Learning

Outdoor learning will resume on Thursday 16th January, following the group rotation system. Parents will receive reminders via email, and children will be informed in school.
For Reception, please remember to send in wellies on Wednesdays for their Welly Wednesday sessions.

Staff Update

This week, we said farewell to Mr Vaughan, our school caretaker, as he starts a new job. We’re incredibly grateful for his hard work and dedication to Llangan Primary School and wish him all the best in his new role.

Looking Ahead

Next week marks the start of our after-school clubs, and we’re excited to see the children enjoying these activities once again. Additionally, junior pupils will be participating in a netball tournament organised by the Urdd – a fantastic opportunity for teamwork and fun!
