Friday 20th December – Final Newsletter 2024

As we approach the end of a busy and magical term at Llangan Primary School, I want to take a moment to reflect on the highlights and express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who makes our school such a special place to learn, grow, and thrive.

Key Stage 2 Carol Concert

Our KS2 Carol Concert on Tuesday was a beautiful reminder of the joy and creativity of our pupils. Held both during the day and in the evening, the concert was a magical blend of carols, festive readings, and humour. Highlights included Year 3 sharing fascinating facts about Christmas tree traditions, Year 4 presenting their A to Z of Christmas, Year 5’s hilarious cracker jokes, and Year 6’s captivating rendition of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. The grand finale featured the entire cohort singing the 12 Days of Christmas, spreading joy throughout the hall.

Thank you to the staff, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure this event ran smoothly, and to our pupils for their professionalism and enthusiasm. It was truly a night to remember!

PTA Raffle and Refreshments

Our PTA’s festive raffle and refreshments, held before the Carol Concert, were a huge success! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, we raised a staggering £1,216.09. These funds will be used for PTA projects that enhance our school’s facilities and provide enriching resources for our children. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed prizes, purchased tickets, or helped on the day—you are making a tangible difference to our school.

A Magical Visit from Father Christmas

On Wednesday, we had a very special guest—Father Christmas himself! Thanks to the organisation of our PTA, the REAL Santa spent time with each class, enchanting the children with his magical stories and festive cheer. Each child received a selection box, generously provided by the PTA, as a token of Christmas joy. It was a truly unforgettable experience for all, filled with wonder and smiles.

Christmas Dinner Day

Thursday brought one of the highlights of the term—our school-wide Christmas Dinner. The whole school gathered in the main hall, which Year 6 pupils had beautifully prepared. They set tables with handmade placemats and crackers, transforming the space into a festive haven. Year 6 even enjoyed the privilege of dining at the “top table” on stage!

Our new catering manager, Cez, and her team prepared a delicious Christmas feast that everyone enjoyed. The hall was filled with laughter, songs, and a true sense of togetherness, making this a truly magical day. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event so special!

School Council’s Food Bank Collection

This week, our School Council organised a collection for the Vale Food Bank, reminding us all of the importance of giving during this festive season. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community, we were able to donate a significant number of items to support families in need. Your kindness exemplifies the spirit of Christmas and the values we hold dear at Llangan. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause.

Thank You to Our Wonderful Community

Llangan Primary School truly is the heart of our community, and it is your support that makes it such a special place. From helping at events and volunteering your time to supporting initiatives like the Food Bank collection, you have made a tremendous impact this term. Together, we create an environment where our children can thrive, grow, and enjoy unforgettable experiences.
