Firstly, I would like to congratulate our school council on the successful launch of their first project of the school year. They have been collecting donations for our harvest appeal for the Vale Foodbank, and their efforts have been truly commendable. As part of this initiative, the school council will be visiting the Vale Foodbank in Llantwit Major next week to see how the donations are used and lend a helping hand. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to understand the importance of giving back to the community.

Our Harvest Festival was a resounding success, and I would like to express my gratitude to all the parents and family members who joined us for this special event. The children and staff worked tirelessly to bring the festival together, and their hard work truly paid off. The performances were outstanding, with whole-school songs and class performances that left everyone in awe. I would like to extend my special thanks to the pupils in years 4 & 5 who wrote our new school song, which we sang proudly during the festival.

Following our Harvest Festival, the PTA hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning, which was attended by parents, governors, and family members. The generosity of our community was overwhelming, and the donations raised over £284.13 for this worthy cause. I am incredibly proud of our school's commitment to supporting charities and making a positive impact on the lives of others. Thank you to our hardworking, dedicated PTA members who put on a brilliant event.

Also, on Thursday, parents of children in our Junior Plaza (Y3,4&5) had the opportunity to attend an open day and witness the collaborative work happening in these classes. The Plaza classes have been designed to meet the needs of our students, and I am thrilled to see the progress they are making. The engaging lessons, interactive activities, and positive interactions between students and teachers were truly inspiring. I am grateful to our dedicated teachers and support staff for creating such an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

In addition, we had a wonderful community event where five mothers volunteered their time to work with Mrs. Stevens in our school garden. Their efforts in weeding, clearing, and maintaining the garden have truly transformed the space. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to these parents for their support and hard work.

Lastly, I am pleased to announce that our pupil voice committees have been formed, with students from years 2-6 taking on important roles. These committees, including the School Council, Eco Owls, Digital Champions, Health and Fit, and Criw Cymraeg, will be working towards achieving nationally accredited awards on behalf of our school. I am confident that these committees will contribute significantly to the growth and development of our school community.
