Dosbarth Llwynog's Week of Creativity and Hard Work!
This week in Dosbarth Llwynog, we’ve been buzzing with excitement as we prepare for the much-anticipated Eisteddfod after half-term! Our classroom has been filled with creativity, energy, and determination as everyone has been putting their best foot forward in a range of activities.
First up, we’ve been polishing our performances for the Eisteddfod competitions. Each student has worked tirelessly to perfect their speech, song, and dance routines. Their hard work is sure to shine through when they take the stage after the holidays! Remember, house points will be awarded, so keep up the great work, Dosbarth Llwynog!
In art, we’ve been inspired by the works of the famous Welsh artist Ernest Zobole. Zobole’s artwork, known for its bold colours and landscapes, has truly inspired our class to think about the beauty of the Welsh countryside. The children have created their own stunning pieces, capturing the essence of Wales in their art. These vibrant artworks will be on display as part of our celebrations, showcasing not only their creativity but also their appreciation for Welsh heritage.
But that’s not all! Our budding poets in Dosbarth Llwynog have been hard at work writing their own Welsh poetry. After half-term, their poems will be entered into the Eisteddfod competition, where they’ll be judged on creativity, language, and expression. The winners will be announced, and house points will be awarded to the top poets!
This week, we were also lucky enough to welcome Nancy, a special visitor from the River Thaw project, who came in to share her knowledge and expertise with us! She gave us a fascinating introduction to the importance of rivers, their ecosystems, and how the River Thaw project is working to protect and enhance the local river environment. The students were fully engaged, asking lots of thoughtful questions about the river and its role in the local landscape.
As part of the visit, the children had the exciting opportunity to design ideas for her upcoming art project. They were inspired by the themes of water, nature, and the beauty of the River Thaw area, and they came up with some incredibly creative concepts. We can’t wait to see how these ideas will be brought to life in the artist’s project, and she has promised to share the finished work with us once it is complete!
A huge well done to every pupil in Dosbarth Llwynog for their hard work, determination, and creativity! Keep up the fantastic effort, and we look forward to seeing all your performances, art, and poetry after the holidays. You should all be very proud of yourselves.
Nos da (Good night) and don’t forget to complete your Eisteddfod home tasks and to keep practising and perfecting those performances – half-term is just around the corner!
