Golden Thread of Sustainability
This week, our pupils have continued their learning through their class inquiries, all linked by our ‘golden thread’ of sustainability. As part of our purpose-led curriculum, every term’s learning culminates in a ‘Jump Out Day,’ where children share their achievements with a real-life audience—most often their families.

This term, we are excited to announce a new format for Jump Out Day: The Great Llangan Sustainability Summit on Thursday, 10th April, 2–3:15 pm, in the school hall. This event will showcase the children’s hard work and ideas for a sustainable future. More details will be shared closer to the date, but we hope to see you there!

Netball Team Triumph
Our school netball team performed fantastically at the Urdd competition! Their teamwork and skill were incredible, and we are so proud of their efforts. You can see highlights and updates on our Instagram page—don’t forget to follow us!

Thoughtfulness and Anti-Bullying
At Llangan, we deliver a values-based curriculum that underpins everything we do. This month, our value is Thoughtfulness, and pupils are exploring what it means to be thoughtful in assemblies and class activities.

Next week, we will deepen this focus by participating in the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s ‘Choose Respect’ campaign. Through discussions, activities, and resources, we will strengthen our commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive environment. Parents can learn more and access helpful tools on the Anti-Bullying Alliance website.

Celebrating Achievements

  • Stars of the Week: Congratulations to our Stars of the Week, who have exemplified thoughtfulness in their actions and learning.
  • Year 3 Reading Stars: We celebrated the incredible progress made by our Year 3 pupils in reading during our celebration assembly. Recent reading assessments showed outstanding results, reflecting the hard work of both pupils and parents. Every child in Year 3 received a well-deserved certificate!

House Cup and Attendance

  • House Cup Winners: Snowdonia House takes the win this week! Their reward? Extra playtime as a celebration of their teamwork and effort.

  • Attendance: Congratulations to Years  3 for achieving this week’s best attendance at 96%!

Nursery Child Care Provision Update
We are thrilled to announce that our Nursery Wrap-Around Provision will open on Monday, 3rd February. This will allow nursery pupils to stay at school from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. The provision will be managed by Miss Llewellyn, with Miss Davies running the wrap-around.

Looking Ahead
Next week is packed with excitement!

  • Years 5/6 will embark on a trip to Parc Stormy, exploring sustainability and environmental themes in action.
  • Our school choir is heading to London to perform at the Young Voices Concert at the O2 Arena—an unforgettable experience!

Thank you for your continued support, and I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Best wishes,
