Llwynog Learning we 27.9.24

Harvest Festival, Literacy and Maths through the Curriculum, Languages, Digital and more!

What a wonderful week of learning in Plaza 3 this week. We have been very busy polishing our performances for our Harvest Festival. It really is a treat!

We have been working extremely hard in our enquiry lessons this week. We began by gathering information from a range of sources to complete timelines relating to coal mining in Wales. We used our literacy skills and knowledge of coal mining to write diary entries from the perspective of a coal miner or animal in the pit.
We explored census data from 1841 to 1891. We compared data on the different occupations of those times. We then applied our numeracy skills across the curriculum to create bar graphs using the data.

In digital learning, we have been comparing advertisements and clickbait. We discussed the curiosity gap and how to recognise clickbait. We then had some fun writing our own clickbait headlines and discussing the impact and dangers.

In French this week we have been talking and writing about our likes and dislikes.
In Welsh, we have been playing lots of vocabulary games and revising previous language patterns.
