    Thank You for Your Support!
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Rags to Riches campaign on Monday. Your efforts have raised valuable funds for the PTA, and we are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support.

    Maths Mat Challenge Success
On Tuesday, our Year 6 pupils competed in the Maths Mat Challenge at St Brides School, taking on some tricky mathematical challenges alongside other schools in our cluster. Congratulations to our team for their fantastic effort and enthusiasm—you’ve made us very proud!

A Musical Treat for Our Pupils
This week, we had the pleasure of a visit from Alis Huws, the former Royal Harpist, and Ben Tarlton, a talented cellist. They performed beautiful pieces of music and shared fascinating insights about their instruments and lives as professional musicians. This special event was organised by our harp teacher, Mrs. Greenwood.

Did you know that our school is fortunate enough to have its own harp? It was donated by former headteacher Mrs. Mary Noyes upon her retirement and has been a wonderful resource over the years. Several pupils have learnt the harp with Mrs. Greenwood, and we are keen to encourage more budding musicians. If your child is interested in harp lessons, please contact the school office.

Headteacher’s Update – Llangan Primary School

It’s been another busy and rewarding week at Llangan!

    Parents' Evening Success
On Tuesday and Thursday, we hosted Parents' Evening, with strong attendance from families across the school. Thank you to all parents who joined us. Your involvement and support are invaluable in helping us guide pupils’ learning. Events like these are crucial for keeping open lines of communication and ensuring that we all work together for each child’s success.

    Welsh Language Achievement
We’re thrilled to announce that Llangan Primary has been awarded the prestigious Cymraeg Campus Award! This national recognition highlights our dedication to promoting the Welsh language across our school. Congratulations to the Criw Cymraeg Committee and Mrs. Antoniou, who have worked tirelessly to develop Welsh throughout the school, gather evidence, and complete the assessment with an external adjudicator. Llongyfarchiadau i bawb!

    Rural Vale Maths Challenge
Four of our talented Year 6 pupils visited St Bride’s School to compete in the Rural Vale Maths Challenge on Tuesday. They worked brilliantly as a team to tackle complex problems and represented Llangan with pride. Well done to the whole team!

    Spook-tacular Halloween Disco

On Wednesday, the PTA transformed Llangan into a Halloween haven with decorations along the school path and in the hall, setting the stage for the PTA Halloween Disco. It was a wonderful night, raising an impressive £797.41 to support PTA projects. Thank you to everyone who attended and volunteered to make the evening a success! The children loved the dancing, games, and spooky costumes.

    Author Visit: Paul Leyshon
On Friday, we were excited to welcome local Welsh author and BBC TV producer Paul Leyshon. He read from his latest book, Joni Jones and the Ghost Train, a mystery perfect for ages 7-10, and discussed his creative process with the children. Paul also held a Q&A session, answering the children's questions about his career and writing inspiration. If your child would like a signed copy, these are available for £6 via ParentPay.

Solar Panels Installation over Half Term

We're excited to share that, over the half-term break, solar panels will be installed on the school roof as part of the Vale of Glamorgan's Carbon Zero project. This fantastic initiative aims to make our school more sustainable by harnessing renewable energy and reducing our carbon footprint. The solar panels will not only help Llangan Primary lower its energy bills but also play an important role in our commitment to environmental responsibility. We’re proud to take this step towards a greener future and look forward to seeing the positive impact on our school!
